Senior partner, bankruptcy attorney
Attorney Colin Lloyd, a partner in the Law Firm of Hoskins, Turco, Lloyd & Lloyd, leads the bankruptcy department, specializing in bankruptcy law, including Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 representation, foreclosure defense, and mortgage modification. Colin attended St. Anastasia Elementary School and graduated from St. Augustine High School. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his law degree from the University of Florida, College of Law in 1998, graduating with honors. He was admitted to The Florida Bar in 1999.
The son of a prominent attorney and wanting to come back to his roots in St. Lucie County, Colin returned to Fort Pierce and has practiced exclusively in bankruptcy law for over 20 years. An experienced attorney, Colin has successfully secured over 5,000 bankruptcy discharges for his clients, helping them restart their lives with bankruptcy and foreclosure defense legal services. Mr. Lloyd understands that most people perceive the very word and concept of bankruptcy to mean negativity and failure. As thousands of his clients can attest, bankruptcy is not about failure—it’s about one’s future; it’s about hope; it’s about starting over and stopping those daily calls from collectors and debt agencies. Colin’s clients know that filing for bankruptcy is a tool to help restart their lives and financial well-being. Mr. Lloyd has the expertise and working knowledge of the complex bankruptcy laws, rules, and regulations to get his clients the best possible results.
Mr. Lloyd is a member of the St. Lucie and Indian River Counties Bar Associations, the Business Law Section of the Florida Bar, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Bankruptcy Bar Association for the Southern District of Florida, and the Florida Justice Association. He is admitted to the Middle and Southern District Federal Courts. In 2018, Mr. Lloyd received the prestigious Pro Bono Award from the St. Lucie County Bar Association for volunteering his legal services to the poor and disadvantage within the 19th Judicial Circuit.
